The instructor wholeheartedly loves her job. She teaches from her heart and that is very engaging and satisfying for me as a student. All the extra materials and knowledge is very much appreciated.

As someone who is tenaciously committed to providing neuro-affirming care to those that I serve, it was incredibly meaningful that Dr. Flowers discussed topics that are important to the neurodivergent community such as: -the risk of ABA encouraging autistic masking and the consequences of masking, -the risks of using extinction and punishment procedures, -using physical prompts as little as possible and prioritizing the bodily autonomy of learners, -the importance and validation that many in the neurodivergent community gain from identity first language, -assent/dissent: Dr. Flowers provided examples of gaining assent from learners with a variety of different communication styles and emphasized that dissent needs to be respected when expressed by a learner, and -asking future therapists to reflect on the necessity of targeting behaviors that are not harming anyone (stims that are not SIB, talking about special interests). Not only did Dr. Flowers discuss these important issues, but she gave specific, actionable examples of how to implement these issues into procedures in order to support learners in the most neuro-affirming, least-restrictive ways. In addition: This course was engaging, promoted the retention of the content being discussed, the structure of the course made sense in relation to the RBT checklist, Dr. Flowers gave learners an idea of what to be prepared for at each step of the process from becoming an RBT to implementing procedures into practice.

Absolutely loved taking this course! it was extremely helpful and i learned so much that will be useful for the new career i am looking foward to ahead!!!

I loved the numerous activities provided to capture what information the person actually processed and maintained after watching the videos. The numerous activities touched on all learning styles. I liked that you could watch a video and that if you didn’t understand one of the activities, you could go back and re-watch the videos as many times as necessary.

I liked that there were many videos and interactive quizzes, discussions, and puzzles involved in this course. Watching videos that are 1-2 hours long would not hold my attention (as I’ve experienced in the past with a different RBT course). Very grateful for the short videos and helpful activities.

I like how the course was structured, the implementation of assignments/tasks, and the presenter. The personality of the presenter and her way of teaching greatly outweighs any other courses.

I really liked everything about the course. The layout, the videos, the notes and the extra activities. I will be using the material even after completing the course to ensure I know everything I need to know for the RBT exam. Overall it made learning the material interesting in a well organized manner.

I appreciate the RBT course for the invaluable opportunity it presents for enhancing my professional trajectory. Although I am only 18 years old, I have experienced many training courses like this. This one is by far my favorite. I love how interactive it is, how I can actually learn from the videos (that aren’t long at all) and actually apply it to real life situations.
